Experimental and computational investigations are carried out to identify the generalized criterion predict preignition tendency of methanol ethanol mixtures in shock tubes. Preignition or weak ignition tubes has been reported be a significant factor impacting accuracy delay times data. A systematic means extent non-idealities needs established validated with experimental data over wide range conditions. Measurements were performed unexpectedly expedited ignition. Methanol showed at low temperatures, similarly mixtures. Endwall high-speed imaging was implemented assess spatial uniformity for ethanol. Furthermore, 1-D simulations ethanol/methanol mixtures, presence sources, utilized investigate various criteria. The Sankaran number (Sap), proposed earlier regime identification, found most successful predictor observations.
